Spotted Silver Dollar (Metynnis maculatus)

Spotted Silver Dollar (Metynnis maculatus) is a peaceful, active and relatively large schooling fish, suitable for a spacious community aquarium with larger, peaceful tank mates. It reaches approximately 12-15 cm. It is distinguished by its round, laterally compressed body, metallic silver sheen and characteristic dark spots. It does best in a group of at least 5–6 individuals and requires a large aquarium, powerful filtration, stable water conditions and a regular supply of plant-based foods.
