Elliot's Cichlid (Thorichthys maculipinnis)

Elliot's Cichlid (Thorichthys maculipinnis) is a beautiful and relatively peaceful Central American cichlid, distinguished by its metallic iridescence, reddish belly and attractive markings on the body and fins. It reaches approximately 12-15 cm and does best in a well-established aquarium with a sandy substrate, rocks, driftwood and plenty of open space. It can be kept with other peaceful fish of a similar size, but may become more territorial during breeding.
