Black Bar Silver Dollar (Myloplus schomburgkii)

Black Bar Silver Dollar (Myloplus schomburgkii) is a large, active and striking freshwater fish, suitable for a spacious aquarium with other larger, peaceful tank mates. It reaches approximately 30-40 cm. It is distinguished by its metallic silver sheen, deep, laterally compressed body and characteristic dark vertical bar. It does best in a group of at least 5-6 individuals and requires a large aquarium, powerful filtration and a regular supply of plant-based foods.
