Bolivian Ram (Mikrogeophagus altispinosus)

Bolivian Ram (Mikrogeophagus altispinosus) is a small, attractive and relatively peaceful South American cichlid, similar in appearance to the common Ram Cichlid but generally considered hardier and easier to keep. It reaches approximately 7-9 cm and does best in a well-established aquarium with a sandy substrate, plants, driftwood and hiding places. It is suitable for keeping with small, peaceful fish, but may become mildly territorial during breeding.
