Emerald Corydoras (Corydoras splendens / Brochis splendens)

Emerald Corydoras (Corydoras splendens / Brochis splendens) is a peaceful bottom-dwelling catfish with attractive metallic green to emerald coloration. It reaches approximately 7-8 cm and does best in a group of at least 6 individuals. It is well suited to a peaceful community aquarium with fine sand or a soft substrate, good filtration and plenty of open space along the bottom. It feeds primarily near the bottom, but should be provided with quality sinking food for bottom-dwelling fish rather than relying only on leftovers from other fish.
