Female Betta (Betta splendens)

Female Betta (Betta splendens) is a beautiful, generally calmer and shorter-finned form of the Betta, suitable for a well-established aquarium with calm water, plants and hiding places. It reaches approximately 5-6 cm and typically has shorter fins than males, with less elaborate but still very attractive coloration. It can be kept alone or in a carefully planned community aquarium, but should not be housed with aggressive, fin-nipping or overly active fish.
