Firemouth Cichlid (Thorichthys meeki)

Firemouth Cichlid (Thorichthys meeki) is a beautiful and relatively peaceful Central American cichlid, easily recognized by the bright red coloration on its throat and belly. It reaches approximately 12-15 cm and does best in a well-established aquarium with a sandy substrate, rocks, driftwood and hiding places. It can be kept with other peaceful fish of a similar size, but may become more territorial during breeding.
