Jack Dempsey (Rocio octofasciata)

Jack Dempsey (Rocio octofasciata) is a beautiful, robust and distinctive Central American cichlid, characterised by a dark body, metallic blue-green spots and a strong personality. It reaches approximately 20–25 cm and thrives in a spacious aquarium with rocks, roots, hiding places and good filtration. It can be kept with larger, robust fish, but it is not a good choice for a peaceful community aquarium with small or timid species.
