Rio Atabapo Whiptail (Loricaria sp.

The Rio Atabapo Loricaria (*Loricaria* sp. "Rio Atabapo") is a beautiful, large bottom-dwelling fish with a distinctively elongated body and a calm temperament. Like other loricariids, it spends much of its time in the lower levels of the aquarium, preferring hiding spots, driftwood, and ample open space on the substrate. It reaches a maximum size of around 25 cm, so it requires a spacious aquarium and carefully selected tank mates of similar size and peaceful nature.
