The Serpae Tetra (Hyphessobrycon eques) is a bright, active and popular schooling fish for a mature aquarium with lively, peaceful tank mates. It grows to about 4-5 cm and has intense red-orange coloration, a dark shoulder mark and contrasting fins. Keep at least 8–10 fish. Avoid slow, timid or long-finned species because serpae tetras may nip fins.
