Uaru Cichlid (Uaru amphiacanthoides)

Uaru Cichlid (Uaru amphiacanthoides) is a large, peaceful and fascinating South American cichlid, distinguished by its tall, laterally compressed body and characteristic dark marking on its sides. It reaches approximately 25-30 cm and does best in a spacious, well-established aquarium with driftwood, hiding places, stable water conditions and powerful filtration. It can be kept with other peaceful fish of a similar size, but may feed on aquarium plants and is not suitable for small aquariums.
