JUWEL Phorax is a highly effective filter medium designed to reduce phosphate levels in aquarium water. By lowering phosphate levels, it helps limit algae growth and may support better plant development.

Phosphates often enter the aquarium through fish food and are usually difficult to break down naturally. Plants need only small amounts of phosphate for normal growth, but higher levels can lead to excessive algae growth.

JUWEL Phorax contains an aluminium mineral that binds dissolved phosphates and removes them from the water. The medium is highly effective and can bind up to 12 mg of phosphate per 1 g of Phorax.
