Before placing the aquarium, it is necessary to use an aquarium mat, which should be positioned between the bottom of the aquarium and the cabinet/stand. It helps distribute the weight evenly, compensates for small surface irregularities and reduces the risk of stress on the glass.

For a proper start and faster establishment of a stable biological environment, it is necessary to use starter bacteria and a dechlorinator for tap water. Starter bacteria support the development of beneficial bacteria in the filter and substrate, while the dechlorinator neutralizes chlorine and heavy metals in the water, making it safe for fish and plants.

For a more natural and balanced environment, you can also add live aquarium plants. Suitable easy plants for beginners include Anubias, Microsorum and Egeria. They improve the appearance of the aquarium, provide hiding places for the fish and help maintain better water quality.
